April 19, 2018

Yesterday evening around 19:00 hours, Liverpool and mutual aid companies were dispatched to a house fire on Second Street in the Village of Liverpool. Car 3 (D/C Laakso) arrived with smoke showing from the 'delta' side of the second floor. Car 1 (Chief Payne) arrived and established command while C2 (D/C Ormsby) and Car 4 (D/C Manley) arrived and began gearing up. Quick investigation found a bedroom on fire on the second floor. Engine 1 (LT. Pernice) arrived first due, securing a hydrant and stretching the attack line to the seat of the fire and quickly extinguishing it. Engine 2 (LT. Lizzio) arrived second due, bringing a second hydrant in and stretching a back up line to the second floor. MCFD E32 arrived, conducted searches on the second floor and provided tools to overhaul while Solvay R11 established a RIT team. With quick work the fire was contained to the bedroom on the second floor. No one was hurt during the operation of the fire and the fire is under investigation by the Onondaga County Emergency Management Office.

We would like to thank our volunteers and mutual aid companies for their quick response and assistance.
