3 Vehicle MVC

While clearing the motorcycle rollover Liverpool units were alerted for a signal 80 at Buckley rd and Patricia Dr. Engine 1 (Capt. Iavarone) arrived finding 3 vehicles with heavy damage and one person down on the ground. Engine 5 (Lt. Laakso) arrived and began vehicle stabilization along with Engine 3 (Capt. O’key). Upon analyzing the scene it was discover the driver of the silver Grand Prix had a medical condition with caused them to strike two parked vehicles in a drive way, sending the steel bumper of one through the rim and out the other side of the vehicle next to it while pushing it within inches of the house. The vehicle then became airborne striking a tree approximately 3 feet up in the air before coming to rest nearly 100 feet away on the opposite side of the road. One patient was transported for evaluation.

Motorcycle MVC

As Liverpool units were marking in service from the outdoor fire, Fire control advised of 2 calls holding. Units were alerted for a EMS call and a Signal 80 motorcycle rollover at 7th North and Electronics Pkwy. Engine 5 (Lt. Laakso) marked en route and arrived finding one patient down on the ground in front of fire station 2. Engine 1 (Capt. Iavarone) arrived and began assisting with patient evaluation and packaging. One patient was transported to the local hospital for evaluation.

Outdoor Fire

Liverpool units were alerted for a outdoor fire in the 500 block of Sunflower Dr. Car 1 (Chief Smith) arrived to find a large and spreading outdoor fire approximately 300 feet behind a residence. Upon arrival Engine 5 (Lt. Laakso) pulled two 200′ hand lines and connected them to reach the fire. Engine 1 (Capt. Iavarone) and Engine 3 (Capt O’key) arrived moments later and assisted with controlling the fire. Units remained on the scene for approximately 40 minutes.

Signal 80 Old Liverpool Rd & Beechwood Ave

Liverpool units were alerted for a two vehicle collision at Beechwood Ave & Old Liverpool Rd. Initial reports were two vehicles with two elderly patients. Upon arrival Engine 5 (Capt. Lafaver) Initiated command and investigated. Personnel discovered all patients to be out of the vehicles with one patient for evaluation. Engine 5 crew assisted in packaging with Rural/Metro Ambulance. One patient was transported for a evaluation.

Signal 80 Buckley Rd & Old Liverpool Rd

Liverpool units were dispatched for a two vehicle accident. Upon arrival Car 1 (Chief Smith) Established command and discovered two vehicles with heavy front end damage to both vehicles. There was one patient still in the vehicle that needed minor extrication and 3 other patients for evaluation. Engine 5 (Lt. Laakso) arrived, stabilized and secured the vehicles, then began packaging the patient in the vehicle with the assistance of Rescue 1 (Capt. Iavarone) and Engine 3 (Lt. McNulty). All patients were packaged and transported to local hospitals for evaluation.

Rollover I-90 West Bound

Liverpool units were alerted on a snowy day for a single vehicle roll over on the NYS Thru-way, Just west of Exit 36. Upon arrival Engine 5 (Lt. Zogg) arrived and established command. They discover one vehicle on its side with a elderly couple and their 2 month old golden retriever inside. Both patients refused medical care and were extricated via the sun roof. The family and dog were shaken up but no injuries.

Signal 80 on I-81

Liverpool units were alerted on February 21st, around 1600 Hrs, for a Signal 80 on I-81 southbound prior to Hiawatha Blvd. Engine Five (Lt. Zogg) arrived first to find one vehicle off the road, after striking a guard rail, with one patient still inside. Rescue One (Capt. Iavarone) and Car One (Chief Smith) arrived simultaneously. Rescue One went to quick work stabilizing the vehicle and extricating the victim with the assistance of Engine Five. The patient was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

Impressive Vehicle Fire

Liverpool units were dispatched to a vehicle fire at Second St & Sycamore St. A news anchor from Channel 3 news captured this impressive video prior to units arrival. The van was full of new spray paint canisters which ruptured during the fire. The first arriving unit, Engine One, arrived and began extinguishing the fire.

Signal 98 At Staybridge Suites

On the morning of February 14th, 2012 Units were alerted for a fire alarm activation. Fire control advised Car 3 (D/C Loucks) there was now a report of smoke in the building. Units were re-alerted for a industrial fire. Upon arrival nothing was evident from the exterior. Engine One (Capt. Iavarone) Quickly arrived along with Engine Two (Capt.Lafavor). Car 2 (D/C Ormsby) arrived taking interior operations as well as Car 1 (Chief Smith) taking command. Units found a hallway with a heavy smoke condition and a water flow. Engine Two (Lt. Laakso & FF Hagenmayer) forced the door into the room but discovered a room with stacked furniture. Upon clearing the room they did a primary search turning up negative with still limited space to work. Engine One (Capt. Iavarone & FF Pernice) advanced a line to Engine Two’s crew where the small fire was extinguished. The cause of the fire is under investigation yet isolated to a heating unit. The room was unoccupied and still in the renovation process. There were no injuries. Units worked at the scene for approximately two hours.

Signal 80 John Glenn Blvd & Kings Park Dr

Units were alerted for a single vehicle MVC with injuries on John Glenn Blvd under the foot bridge. Initial reports of a White SUV had hit the bridge support with heavy damage. Car 2 (D/C Smith) was one of the first arriving units to find a vehicle on its side with 5 people trapped. Rescue One (Lt. Iavarone) quickly arrived and went to work to remove all the occupants. Engine Three (Lt. Mcnulty) and Engine Five assisted the rescue crew with removal of occupants and a safety line had been established. All occupants were removed in under 40 minutes and transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
